Cross-country (or Nordic) skiing is popular and gives you a chance to see the snowy landscapes from a different angle. Norway is also known for the wealth of fun winter activities on offer from dog sledding, snowmobiling, ice-rally driving, toboganning, sleigh rides, ice skating or ice fishlng. Resort facilities and equipment hire are nothing short of excellent, and there is tuition with friendly, English speaking instructors for adults and children of all ages.

A superb destination for families, there are creches in most resorts and young children (normally under 7's) receive free lift passes and ski in dedicated areas. Norway's après ski also takes some beating and after a hard day on the slopes you won't be short of places to eat or drink. Places to stay range from superb self-catering apartments, traditional hotels to cosy log-cabins.
